I am a photographer and director driven by a passion for storytelling through my exploration of beauty, identity, and memory. Growing up in Miami and spending formative years in Colombia, the tropics have shaped my visual palette, characterized by vivid, bold colors often contrasted by cinematic noir.
While I intend to document reality, my work often hovers in the liminal space between the real and the surreal, drawing influence from the tradition of magical realism in Colombian storytelling.
This lens allows me to explore how memories shape our understanding of identity, revealing their selective and emotionally charged nature while also recognizing their universal resonance. This paradox fascinates me, and I strive to evoke the sensation of recalling a forgotten dream—both deeply personal and collective.
Rooted in the communities I document, my work celebrates beauty in the margins, offering intimate and nostalgic glimpses into stories that challenge mainstream aesthetics. With over a decade of experience as a freelancer in Los Angeles, I have transitioned into directing music videos, documentaries, and editorial projects, all while continuing my work in photography. As of July 2024, I have returned to Miami, where I continue to cultivate my creative practice.
