I am a photographer and director driven by a passion for storytelling through my exploration of beauty, identity, and memory. Growing up in Miami and spending formative years in Colombia, the tropics have profoundly shaped my visual palette, defined by vivid, bold colors often contrasted with cinematic noir.
One of the things I love most about photography is how it allows me to respond to light, shaping how my subject is revealed. Light determines what emerges in focus and what lingers in silhouette, hidden in the shadows. This interplay informs much of my neo-noir approach. While I intend to document reality, my work often hovers in the liminal space between the real and the surreal, drawing influence from the tradition of magical realism in Colombian storytelling.
This lens has allowed me to explore how memories shape our understanding of identity and personal mythologies, revealing their selective and emotionally charged nature while also recognizing their universal resonance. I strive to evoke the sensation of recalling a forgotten dream—both deeply personal and collective.
Rooted in the communities I document, my work celebrates beauty in the margins, offering intimate, nostalgic glimpses into stories that challenge mainstream narratives. With over a decade of experience as a freelancer in Los Angeles, I transitioned into directing music videos, documentaries, and editorial projects while continuing my work in photography. As of July 2024, I have returned to Miami, where I continue to cultivate my creative practice.
